BritCham Shanghai and its Marketing Committee are delighted to invite members to our exclusive “Chief Marketing Officer Roundtable” on Wednesday, 9 June 2021, 8 am – 10.30 am where we will discuss the consumer and marketing landscape in China under the theme of “Post Covid-19 Growth and Capturing Chinese Consumers in Tier 2 and Beyond”. This event is by invitation only.

To start the event Dr Dan WangChief Economist at Hang Seng Bank (China), will share her unique and valuable views on underlying macro trends in China, employment and disposable income, and the rising economic power of consumers in Tier 2 and beyond. Experts from the Marketing Committee will then break down the implications of these issues and the post Covid-19 economy for consumer brands in the China market. This will be followed by a wider discussion among the attending guests on these topics.

The “Chief Marketing Officer Roundtable” series is designed to provide senior marketing executives with a regular platform to meet with peers and external experts to break down economic and business trends in China and discuss how they impact and direct marketing decisions and strategy. To ensure open discussions, the roundtables are held under strict Chatham House rules.

The meeting is hosted at the BritCham Shanghai Office. Complimentary light breakfast and tea/coffee will be provided.

  • 8.20 – 8.25 am: Welcome Speech – James Dunn (Executive Director, BritCham Shanghai)
  • 8.25 – 9.00 am: Keynote Presentation – Dr Dan Wang (Chief Economist, Hang Seng Bank China) – underlying macro trends in China | employment and disposable income | the rising economic power of consumers in Tier 2 and beyond
  • 9.00 – 9.20 am: Presentation by Marketing Committee Experts – Steven Proud (Global Marketing Director, Brandigo) and Oliver Pearce (Business Development Director, Hill and Knowlton) – breakdown of the mentioned implications | the post Covid-19 economy for brands in China 
  • 9.20 – 10.00 am: Q&A Discussion
  • 10.00 – 10.30 am: Session Ends, Group Photo & Networking
