Join us for an exclusive event celebrating the launch of Richard Hammond’s Spirits Brand in China.

Hosted at BritCham Shanghai, this special evening offers guests the opportunity to be among the first to taste Hammond’s Ironridge Whiskey and Ratio Gin.
It’s also a rare chance to meet Richard Hammond in person and network with leading figures and influencers from the automotive and alcohol industries.

Admission includes light supper & whisky and gin tasting.

Richard Hammond’s career has been a whirlwind of diversity, adventure, and passion – both on-screen and beyond. As a household name in automotive entertainment, he became renowned worldwide as a co-host of “Top Gear,” transforming the show into a global phenomenon with his energetic, humorous approach and genuine love for cars. His fascination with vehicles started early, leading him from automotive journalism to television presenting. In 2002, his role on “Top Gear” elevated him into international stardom, and his charisma helped shape one of the most beloved motoring shows ever.

Beyond “Top Gear,” Hammond has hosted several other popular programs, including “Rocket Ladder,” “Brainiac: Science Abuse,” and “The Grand Tour,” an Amazon Prime series launched in 2016 with Clarkson and May, following their departure from the BBC. He’s also co-founded DriveTribe, a vibrant social platform for car enthusiasts, and The Smallest Cog, a production company creating engaging content and television projects. These ventures showcase his entrepreneurial spirit’s extension beyond entertainment into digital media.

Recently, Hammond has turned his passions toward the world of spirits, driven by a desire to craft products that reflect his love of craftsmanship, adventure, and storytelling. He personally designed the botanical ratio for his Ratio London Dry Gin, inspired by his travels and the diverse landscapes he’s explored. His intent was to create a gin that embodies adventure, a sense of place, and a touch of his personality – an authentic spirit rooted in the land and culture he cherishes. The gin features locally sourced ingredients such as bilberries, wild gorse flowers, and nettles, blended with honey to create a complex yet approachable flavor profile. The bottle design, reminiscent of a gear, symbolises craftsmanship, ingenuity, and his personal journey.

Hammond’s whisky venture, Iron Ridge English Single Malt Whisky, a nickname for a hillside ridge visible from his home in the Lake District – an iconic landscape representing his connection to nature and exploration. He sought out the finest casks, working closely with one of the best distilleries in the UK to develop a whisky that embodies patience, tradition, and a quest for excellence. The result is a meticulously crafted spirit, rich with notes of vanilla, caramel, spice, and fruit and a very delicate smokiness, a reflection of Hammond’s love for quality and discovery.

These spirit ranges are more than just beverages; they are extensions of Hammond’s adventurous spirit, craftsmanship, and storytelling. They symbolise his passion for exploration, appreciation of beauty in details, and his desire to share his journey with others.
