The overview of the ESG Disclosure for Chinese listing companies and potential impact domestically and internationally.
On 12 April 2024, the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE), Shenzhen Stock Exchange (SZSE), and Beijing Stock Exchange (BSE) each issued self-regulatory guidance documents for listed companies, titled “Sustainability Report (Trial)” (referred to as the “Guidelines”), which took effect on 1 May 2024. These guidelines aim to integrate the concept of sustainable development into companies’ business strategies and operational activities.
The Guidelines have been formulated by taking into consideration China’s national conditions while also incorporating valuable insights from international standards, such as the ISSB’s IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards and GRI Standards. This approach helps reduce the cost of preparing sustainability-related disclosures for companies subject to various disclosure regimes.
Our keynote speaker from KPMG will provide an overview of the Guidelines to facilitate a better understanding for companies.
Following the keynote, our industry experts from AllBright, Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), LucaNet, and HSBC will share their in-depth thoughts and experiences from domestic and international perspectives.
