Ms. Xu Suosheng is the Director of Coopration and Development Department of Shanghai International Arbitration Center(SHIAC). Ms. Xu has accumulated extensive experience in arbitration case managment. Since joining SHIAC in 2012, she has managed nearly 800 arbitration cases. Starting in 2017, she assumed the role of the Head of Business Development Department, leveraging her wealth of experience in business expansion and international cooperation. Currently, Ms. Xu serves as the arbitrator of Shanghai Arbitration Commission (SHAC) and the mediator of CCPIT Shanghai International Commercial Mediation Center (SHIMC). In addition, she is also the Deputy Dean of the Permanent Forum of China Construction Law (PFCCL)  Academy and the adjunct professor of Shanghai University of International Business and Economics (SUIBE).

Vivian Mao is a Partner at Dezan Shira & Associates. Vivian is in charge of East China including Shanghai office and other offices surrounding.  Together with the blended team, Vivian provides foreign entities entering China with comprehensive investment and management advice, and guides investors through the process of business plan, establishment, maintenance and expansion.

Vivian joined Dezan Shira & Associates in 2015, and led the Business Advisory Service team for more than 2 years. Her work often included legal advisory on investment structure, incorporation, mergers & acquisitions, restructuring, contract drafting and review, labor law, work permits and residence permits for expatriates and intellectual property.

Prior to joining Dezan Shira & Associates, Vivian started her career with an international law firm in 2005, worked as an in-house legal counsel for a major Singapore-listed company from 2008 to 2011, and then joined a multinational consulting firm, heading the Corporate Advisory Department.

With more than 20 years of legal practice, Vivian is experienced in incorporation, corporate compliance, mergers & acquisitions, restructuring, legal due diligence, project investment, international trade, offshore investment, intellectual property, labor law, contract review and drafting, dispute settlement, arbitration and litigation. She has also led several anti-corruption investigation projects for multinational companies.

Vivian holds an MBA and has a law degree in International Economic Law from East China University of Political Science and Law. She holds the Certificate of Lawyer’s Qualification and is a member of International Bar Association. Vivian also joined CPA Australia as FCPA. Apart from her strong knowledge and experiences in the legal and Human Resources fields, she possesses a comprehensive understanding of the key tax and accounting topics relating to foreign direct investment in China.

Vivian is one of Canada’s Global Executives recognized by the Trade Commissioner Service at Global Affairs Canada. She is also a mentor for Start2 Group, recognized in 2025 as one of Europe’s top three startup hubs by the Financial Times, securing the #1 ranking in “Network” and “Track Record.” In 2024, she shared her expertise with three German startup groups, helping them advance their ventures.

Jennifer is ERM’s Partner, based in Shanghai. She is dedicated to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) consulting, formulating ESG management strategies, exploring opportunities, and managing risks in areas of climate change, decarbonization, environmental and social impact, ESG disclosure and rating improvements, etc. She supports investment institutions and corporate clients in understanding the rapidly involving and changing needs in ESG, revitalizing their capital structure, and facilitating access to alternative funding sources. The services extend to sustainable supply chains for enterprise clients. Before ERM, Jennifer had nearly two decades of experience in risk management, governance, and sustainability, in both corporates (AstraZeneca and Novartis) and professional institutions (KPMG).

Jennifer graduated from Fudan University with a Bachelor of Economics. Jennifer is a member of the Hong Kong Chartered Governance Institute (HKCGI), and granted the ESG Reporting Certification by HKCGI. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CICPA), Certified Fraud Examiner (ACFE), qualified for ISO 14064 -2018 GHG (Greenhouse Gas) Internal Verifier.

Dr. Xu Guojian studied law in China, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Germany, concluding his doctoral studies at the University of Hamburg; he was awarded the title Dr. Juris in 1994.

Dr. Xu is an expert in the settlement of international commercial disputes.  As counsel and arbitrator, he has participated in the settlement of hundreds of commercial dispute cases.  He participated in the 20^th Diplomatic Session of the Hague Conference of Private International Law as a member of the Chinese delegation in order to negotiate and adopt the 2005 Hague Convention on the Agreement on Choice of Courts.  Furthermore, he was a delegate of China in four Special Commission meetings in 2016, 2017 and 2018 and the 22^nd Diplomatic Session of the Hague Conference of Private International Law in 2019, in order to draft and adopt the 2019 Hague Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Civil and Commercial Judgments.

Dr. Xu is a vice-president of the China Society of Private International Law, a member of the Administrative Review Committee of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government and Distinguished Dean of the School of International Law of Shanghai University of Political Science and Law.  He is also an arbitrator of the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (“CIETAC”), the Shanghai International Arbitration Center (“SHIAC”) and the arbitration commissions of cities including Shanghai, Hangzhou and Shenyang.  Dr. Xu is fluent in Mandarin Chinese, German and English.
