On 28 May 2023, the 2023 Erhai Forum on Global Ecological Civilisation Construction was held in Dali, Yunnan Province and welcomed nearly 400 attendees.
Jointly organised by China International Communications Group, Yunnan Provincial Government and China Public Relations Association, the forum aimed to facilitate the exchange and cooperation in the field of global ecological civilisation construction, discuss solutions for global ecological and environmental challenges and foster harmony between humankind and nature.
BritCham Shanghai was invited to a panel discussion, titled “Global Entrepreneurs’ Dialogue: Outlook and International Cooperation on Green and Low Carbon Growth”. BritCham Shanghai Executive Director Stuart Dunn shared the Chamber’s effort to support and strengthen cooperation in related fields, as well as best practices of decarbonisation and ecological civilisation from its business community.
The session was hosted by Daisy Shen, Head of Climate Change and Sustainability at KPMG China. Daisy also addressed the significance of ESG to corporates and businesses in her earlier keynote speech “Corporate Intelligence to Drive Green Decarbonisation”.
This year the Erhai Forum welcomed nearly 400 Chinese and foreign attendees, including representatives of the Yunnan Provincial Government, the Chinese Academy of Science, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the United Nations, Central Ministries and Commissions, foreign embassies and international organisations in China, universities, businesses and the other parties.
