As part of the Zhejiang Office’s industry roundtable series, the event convened professionals from the education and technology sectors to explore innovative uses of emerging technologies in learning. Attendees shared insights on how digital advancements are reshaping education, drawing on expertise from leading educators and tech specialists.
Stuart Dunn, Executive Director of BritCham Shanghai, stressed the critical importance of cross-sector collaboration. He emphasised that, in this era of digital transformation, joint efforts between the UK and China are essential to drive innovation in educational models.
Joshua Howey, Consul and Head of East China Outreach, British Consulate-General Shanghai, provided an overview of recent high-level exchanges and visits between the UK and China, sharing details about the summer programme for British students to study Mandarin in China.
Si Su, Head of Education China, Department for Business and Trade, outlined the UK’s key priorities across different stages and aspects of education, including digital education, vocational training, skills and certifications.

Over 10 institutions were invited to the roundtable, spanning UK universities, international K–12 schools in Zhejiang, study‑abroad agencies, career development providers, and edtech companies.
