On 10 April 2024, the British Chamber of Commerce Shanghai successfully hosted a STEM training workshop for international and bilingual school teachers at the Britannica International School Shanghai.

This ‘train-the-trainer’ workshop was specifically designed to offer educators a unique opportunity to grasp the overview of the F1 in Schools programme. It aims to empower them to introduce the F1 in Schools project within their schools, fostering students’ enthusiasm for STEM learning, cultivating innovative thinking, and promoting teamwork. Ultimately, the workshop endeavours to significantly influence their future career paths.

The core content of the training:

  1. Project Initiation: Introduction of the framework, objectives, and implementation steps of the F1 in Schools project.
  2. Classroom Simulation: The entire process of planning, organising, and executing F1 in Schools teaching activities through simulated real classroom scenarios.
  3. Technical Application: Key equipment, tools and components in making race miniature Formula cars, and how to support students in their hands-on practices.
  4. Evaluation and Feedback: Assessing students’ project progress and providing constructive feedback.

Tutors from SQ EDU also shared their insights and past experience on implementing the F1 in Schools projects at schools, including successful cases, challenges faced, and problem-solving strategies.

Among the attendees are educators from top international and bilingual schools in Shanghai, including Harrow International School Shanghai, Dulwich College Shanghai Pudong, YK Pao School, King’s College International School Wuxi, Wycombe Abbey School Nanjing, and the Sino-British College, USST.
