Siu always wanted to be an artist. In 2012, he went for broke, by following his passion and established The Orangeblowfish in his home study.

Emil joins the award-winning hotel with over thirty years of hospitality management experience. Before joining Mandarin Oriental Pudong, Shanghai, Emil served as Regional Vice President of The Langham Hotels & Resorts, China, and Managing Director of The Langham, Xintiandi, Shanghai, China. Before that, he also held various management roles at Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts and Hyatt Hotels and Resorts in several locations. A tenured industry veteran, Emil began his career with the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group in the early 1990s, where he worked with the Group’s flagship property in Hong Kong for ten years.

Throughout his career, Emil has led teams in overall hotel performance and operations and brings with him a deep knowledge of managing luxury hotels. Being recognised for having exceptional leadership skills and great enthusiasm for service excellence, he was named one of the “Top 10 Prominent Youth in the Chinese Hotel Industry” by Global Hotel magazine in 2007.  In 2014, he was awarded “Best General Manager of the Year” at the Golden Pillow Award and, in the same year, received the “Golden Leader Award for the Outstanding General Manager in China Hotel Industry 2014.”  He was also named one of the “Best General Managers of China” at the 10th China Hotel Starlight Awards. In 2021, Emil was named one of the eight finalists at the Stelliers Award.

Born in Hong Kong, Emil holds a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management from Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He is a fan of art, culture, and photography and enjoys photography while in his leisure time.

Chef Mickey Chien was born into a great culinary family. After graduating from Le Cordon Bleu with the highest honors, his family inspired him to set out on a journey and explore the world’s food cultures. During the past 20 years, he has developed a deep understanding of several regional cuisines, including French, ltalian, Australian, Cantonese, Sichuanese and Taiwanese, as well as the art of Western pastry making

He believes that food knows no national boundaries and has integrated the essence of different gastronomic traditions with China’s historic culinary culture throughout his career. The ingredients are meticulously selected by him in accordance with the solar terms, and he always makes sure that his menus reflect the unique style of the specific region. In his view, cooking is not about complicating food, but about using seasonal and local ingredients to bring out the best and purest natural flavors in each dish.
