Vicky (Xiaotian) Mao is Bite’s Head of China. Vicky joined Bite in 2019 from VCP, where she rose to Managing Director and Partner and in 2017 moved from London to Shanghai to open and build out VCP’s China business. Before VCP, Vicky worked for Standard Bank, having previously spent a number of years at PwC Hong Kong. She is an CPA and has an MBA from Said Business School, University of Oxford.

Sophie is committed to empowering women with the financial tools to grow their wealth. She believes in the importance of creating an open and safe space for women to share their worries, challenges, and successes around money. Sophie helps women to confidently manage their finances and identify their long-term goals.

Sophie built her financial and investment knowledge while working alongside the Fixed Income traders at Deutsche Bank in London. Seeking new challenges, Sophie relocated to Shanghai in 2019 and joined Austen Morris Associates to take on a more client facing role. Her role focuses on client relationship management, handling client queries and business development. She prides herself on her attention to detail and takes time to understand clients’ needs to be able to provide the most effective solutions.

Sophie is actively involved in the British Chamber’s Women In Business Committee in Shanghai. She helps to organise events to provide skills training, drive inclusiveness and champion leadership success within the women’s network.

With a passion of self-development, psychology and female empowerment, Nancy is an active participant in the Shanghai British Chamber of Commerce Women in Business Committee. She regards this as a long-term commitment and humble contribution to female community building project.

Nancy has acquired her education and professional experience in Australia, Singapore – An alumnus of University of Melbourne and University of Queensland, and her previous experience includes Hilton Worldwide, Pan Pacific, ShineWing Australia. After relocating to Shanghai in late 2019, she joined Star (Shanghai) Accounting & Consulting as the Business Development Manager/Business Assistant to CEO to take on more a strategic management role.

With 13 years of experience, Helen Xu is an accomplished tax service professional.

Her career footprint includes the Big Four accounting firms and other MNCs such as Deloitte, Mazars and Siemens, which equipped her with extensive knowledge in the fields of indirect taxation, M&A, equity transfer, domestic and foreign personal income tax. She is also familiar with VAT, BEPS, CRS, individual income tax reform and other reforms of great significance to China’s tax ecological environment

Helen’s work involves Long-standing collaborations with Private Banking, Security Companies and Insurance groups, as well as regular cooperation with post PHDs of the National Academy of Social Sciences and participated in professional training of taxation in several universities. She holds master’s degree of Management Science and attended ESSCA Business College in France from 2007 to 2008. She was the guest lecturer of Certified Private Banker (CPB), focusing on global tax compliance of HNWIs.

Joanne is the Founder and Managing Partner of Capital Eight, a corporate finance house headquartered in Shanghai.  During her investment banking career spanning nearly 40 years, Joanne has worked in senior corporate finance positions with UBS, Jardine Fleming (JP Morgan) and GE Capital across Europe, the USA and Greater China; 25 of those years have been focused on a wide range of M&A, debt and equity capital raisings, restructurings and infrastructure financing.  At Jardine Fleming, she was a member of the first dedicated team of M&A professionals based in Asia and was internationally ranked as a leading Asian-emerging markets corporate finance advisor.

Joanne actively represents the foreign financial services industry in China, engaging in regular peer dialogue with the Chinese Government.  She is Chair Emeritus of BritCham Shanghai’s Financial Services Group, Chair of the Ethics Committee for the American Chamber of Commerce Shanghai and was inaugural Chair of the National Australian Chamber of Commerce Greater China.  Joanne has also worked with the UK Government to promote the adoption of PPP infrastructure financing in China and is a former Vice Chair of the EU Chamber’s Investment Working Group.  She advises young and aspiring entrepreneurs in China as an accredited member of SOS Ventures’ global mentor program and is anAdvisory Board Director to two tech start-ups.

Joanne is a regular speaker at international conferences and often asked for her views on China’s financial services industry and the China investment environment; she has participated in the BBC’s globally televised debating series “Intelligence Squared”.  Joanne holds an MBA from London Business School, a BA from the University of Adelaide, South Australia and reads, writes and speaks Mandarin.
