The past two months saw China lifting COVID restrictions, the first COVID wave heavily hit employees and business operations, the sign of international travels returning to normal, etc. For employers, how would this impact your 2023 business and HR management?

To support members, HR professionals and employers to have an overall view of the HR outlook and trends in 2023, BritCham Shanghai and its HR Committee invite Yury Karp, Global Account Director at BIPO and Roy Ren, Senior Director at Fragomen to shed light on the following topics at this event. This event will be hosted by HR Committee member Jason Will.

Yury’s presentation will focus on:

HR challenges and market updates for 2022-2023
Some of the HR trends in 2023 (rebuilding teams, flexible work, HR digitalisation, talent retention and attraction, etc.)

Roy’s presentation will share:

China immigration policy overview and latest updates
Plan for travels (pre-departure and re-entry)
Best practice for employers and foreign employees

A Q&A session will follow the keynotes and we welcome attendees to submit questions (English or Chinese) in advance.

Yury Karp

Global Account Director,
BIPO

Yury has a substantial experience in HR Services with specific focus on Senior Management selection and Executive Search. He has been previously working for Page Group since 2014, starting in Moscow office before moving to Shanghai in 2016. Over the past 6 years Yury has been focusing on business development, consulting and advisory for clients in China and Asia across Industrial, Business Services and Digital sector including Management Consulting, Market Entry, Data Analytics and Information Services, Digital Marketing & E-Commerce, FinTech and other industries.

As a Global Account Director at BIPO, Yury is looking after regional and global client and partners’ development across Greater China, APAC and other markets. He is also responsible for global partnership network and BIPO business growth in CIS and Central Asia regions, helping our clients to expand worldwide.

Yury has a degree in Asian Studies from Moscow State University. He speaks English, French, Russian and Japanese.

Roy Ren

Senior Director, Fragomen (Shanghai) Co. Ltd.

Roy Ren is an experienced Senior Director at Fragomen’s Shanghai office. With more than 15 years of experience in immigration consultancy, Roy serves as an Account Manager and manages a wide range of clients including global, regional and local corporations. Roy leads a team of immigration professionals to deliver China immigration consultancy and compliance services. In addition to some of the key operational functions in the Shanghai office, Roy is also responsible for liaising with immigration authorities across China. Roy is a frequent speaker on China immigration matters.

Prior to joining Fragomen, Roy was responsible for global mobility services for China immigration and consular matters into other jurisdictions at a Fortune 500 organization. Roy also has in-house human resources experience and experience working for a government department.

Jason Will

Jason Will is Country Manager for Asian Tigers, a leading moving & relocation company. Asian Tigers China employs over 280 staff and operates in 10 locations around China. Jason has lived and worked in Asia since 1999 in Jakarta, Singapore and Shanghai.
