The British Chamber of Commerce Shanghai, in collaboration with the China-Britain Business Council (CBBC), hosted a roundtable for the visiting Rt Hon. Anne-Marie Trevelyan MP, Minister of State (Indo-Pacific), FCDO on 19 April. A group of around ten leading British MNCs were invited to join the roundtable.
Tom Simpson, Managing Director, China at CBBC and Stuart Dunn, Executive Director at Britcham Shanghai, co-chaired the roundtable and delivered welcome remarks. Tom and Stuart provided insights on the general challenges and opportunities for British business in China while the company representatives had the opportunity to brief the Minister on their investments in China and perspective on the Chinese market including market access and business environment concerns.
Senior representatives from British companies including bp, WPP, Diageo, KPMG, SCB, as well as from CEIBS and University of Manchester attended the event.
