On 28 March, BritCham Shanghai had the pleasure of meeting with the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce (SCOFCOM).
Ms. Zhu Yi, Deputy Director of SCOFCOM, warmly welcomed BritCham Shanghai Chair, Kirsten Johnston and the Chamber delegation.
During the meeting, Kirsten expressed gratitude to SCOFCOM for their ongoing support of the Chamber and its members. She also provided insights into the Chamber’s recent initiatives. BritCham Shanghai anticipates further collaboration with SCOFCOM in upcoming Chamber events to enhance mutual connections.
Ms. Zhu Yi shared updates on Shanghai’s “Five Centres” construction, foreign investment utilisation, and economic and trade exchanges between Shanghai and the UK. SCOFCOM appreciated BritCham Shanghai’s efforts in nurturing and empowering the British business community in Shanghai. They pledged to continue optimising the business environment for foreign enterprises and providing timely assistance to address local operational challenges.
The meeting covered various topics, including B2G roundtables, digitalisation, green and low-carbon transformation, and financial and professional services.
Representatives from the Division of Foreign Investment Promotion and Invest Shanghai also attended the meeting.
