On 20 February, BritCham Shanghai hosted its first quarterly event of 2025 for Platinum members at the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse in the Chamber office. The gathering featured our VIP speaker, the British Consul-General Shanghai, Matt Burney, CMG, who provided valuable insights into UK government initiatives and an outlook for 2025.
The event commenced with welcoming remarks from Executive Director Stuart Dunn, who emphasised the importance of fostering collaboration and open dialogues among members. This was followed by a briefing from the British Consul-General, highlighting the renewed era of diplomatic and economic collaboration between the UK and China, including the resumption of face-to-face ministerial engagements. The UK government remains committed to supporting British businesses in China through a range of initiatives.
The Chamber extends its gratitude to all attendees for their active participation and to the British Consul-General for sharing valuable perspectives.
BritCham Shanghai’s Platinum Members from the sectors of Professional & Financial Services, Banking, Education, Hospitality & Travel, Automotive, Manufacturing & Engineering, and Real Estate attended the event.
Looking ahead, the Chamber is planning quarterly activities for Platinum Members, providing opportunities to engage with senior VIPs, key decision-makers and industry experts. These events aim to facilitate meaningful discussions, foster collaboration, and explore new business opportunities.
