22 Dec 2025

The BritCham STEM Racing 2025–2026 Season Test Day, jointly organised by BritCham Shanghai and STEM Racing, was successfully held on 17 December at Shanghai Concord Bilingual School, Pudong.

The event featured a guest speaker from the STEM Racing Hong Kong & Macau Team, Andy Man, Project Manager of STEM Racing HKMO. More than 20 students from Wycombe Abbey School Changzhou and Shanghai Concord Bilingual School, Pudong formed six competing teams, testing their engineering, design and teamwork skills in a competitive yet collaborative setting.

The Test Day was attended by Mr Paul Silverwood, Head of School at Shanghai Concord Bilingual School, Pudong; Mr Stuart Dunn, Executive Director of BritCham Shanghai; and other distinguished guests.

At the conclusion of the day, Team NEXUS RACING 1 from Wycombe Abbey School Changzhou secured first place in the overall rankings. The top three teams were:

1st – NEXUS RACING 1 (Wycombe Abbey School Changzhou)
2nd – ROCKET (Shanghai Concord Bilingual School, Pudong)
3rd – NEXUS RACING 2 (Wycombe Abbey School Changzhou)

The STEM Challenge is one of the world’s largest and most influential youth competitions in science, technology and innovation. Originating in the UK in 2000, the programme now reaches more than 20,000 schools across over 50 countries. Designed for students aged 9 to 19, the challenge integrates science, technology, engineering, mathematics and business management. Participating teams replicate the full Formula 1 development process — from designing, developing and testing a miniature F1 car to creating marketing and sponsorship strategies. Teams of three to six students take on defined roles, working collaboratively to address both engineering and business challenges.

Guest organisations in attendance included:
▸ Shanghai Magnolia International Friendship Foundation
▸ Shanghai Shenchuang Education Development Centre
▸ Shanghai Academy of Urban Governance, Shanghai University

BritCham Shanghai extends its sincere thanks to Shanghai YK Pao School for providing the race track, and to Shanghai Concord Bilingual School, Pudong for hosting the event.
