On 11 September, BritCham Shanghai hosted a closed-door roundtable, bringing together representatives from leading companies to exchange views on food safety and the evolving regulatory environment for cross-border e-commerce (CBEC).
The discussion provided an opportunity for members to share perspectives and practical experiences on recent regulatory developments and their implications for businesses operating through CBEC channels. Participants also exchanged views on the broader regulatory outlook, implementation considerations and the potential impact of evolving requirements on business operations and market access.
Representatives from BritCham Shanghai’s member companies took part in the discussion, bringing perspectives from across the food, healthcare and consumer sectors.
The roundtable also welcomed Jovan Tojagic, Commercial Consul for East China and Head of Life Sciences China at the British Consulate-General Shanghai, together with colleagues from the British Consulate-General Shanghai. In his closing remarks, Jovan thanked BritCham Shanghai for providing a platform for government and businesses to exchange views, noting the value of hearing directly from companies about their experiences and feedback.
