Notice of 2026 Annual General Meeting and Call for Executive Committee Nominations

Dear BritCham Shanghai Member,

The British Chamber of Commerce Shanghai is pleased to announce the upcoming 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Executive Committee (ExCo) Elections.

Why Join the Executive Committee?

This is your opportunity to play a pivotal role in steering the Chamber’s strategic direction and contributing to its continued growth and success. Serving on the ExCo offers a unique opportunity to engage with our vibrant community, collaborate with senior leaders, and represent the Chamber in high-level discussions.

We welcome applicants from across our diverse business community to apply for specialist ExCo roles and bring their expertise to support the evolving business landscape in East China.

Expected Time Commitment

ExCo members are expected to dedicate time to attending monthly ExCo meetings. In addition, there will be quarterly meetings for Advisers and Ambassadors to ensure strategic alignment and active involvement in key initiatives. Given the nature of the roles, members should also be prepared to contribute to other Chamber activities, for example committee meetings and special projects.

Key Areas for the 2026 ExCo Elections:

Open Positions: This year, three (3) Executive Committee positions are up for election, including one (1) Chair, one (1) Vice Chair and one (1) Strategic Adviser. If elected, the successful nominee will be a full-voting member of the Executive Committee.
Diversity Commitment: We are committed to fostering a diverse and representative ExCo and to achieving balanced representation across gender, background, business sizes and industry sectors. This aligns with the Chamber’s values and enhances decision-making through varied perspectives.

Election Key Dates:

Friday, 7 November 2025: Nominations open. Nomination forms and election procedures will be circulated via email and are available on the Chamber website.
Friday, 28 November 2025: Nominations close.
Thursday, 8 January 2026: Voting opens (qualified voting members only).
Tuesday, 20 January 2026: Voting closes
Wednesday, 21 January 2026: Annual General Meeting (AGM)

Motions for Consideration:

All motions for consideration at the AGM must be submitted to the Executive Director no later than 5pm, 28 November 2025 by email at executivedirector@britishchambershanghai.cn

How to Nominate:

Nomination forms must be completed and submitted by 23:45, 28 November 2025. All candidates must meet the membership and eligibility criteria outlined in the Chamber Constitution. Detailed instructions and forms are available below.
