On 3 September, BritCham Shanghai and SwissCham China – Shanghai Office organised a joint business delegation to Wuxi to explore the real-world impact of AI in advanced manufacturing. The day-long visit brought international business representatives for immersive site tours and in-depth exchanges on how AI-driven technologies are reshaping smart operations and industrial solutions.

At Pfizer’s Wuxi manufacturing site, the delegation saw how a global leading pharmaceutical company is incorporating digital technologies and AI into its operations. The visit covered the site’s approach to digital transformation, with discussions on applications ranging from production safety and operational management to decision-making.
在辉瑞制药无锡生产基地，代表团了解了该全球领先药企如何将数字技术和AI融入运营。参观内容涵盖基地的数字化转型路径，讨论涉及生产安全、运营管理和决策支持等多个应用层面。
A tour of the exhibition hall and Pfizer Training Centre also provided insight into how technology is driving operational excellence and shaping the factory of the future.

In the afternoon, the delegation visited Bühler, a Swiss advanced manufacturing and engineering group, for a closer look at its manufacturing operations and automation journey. Participants toured the production lines and learned how Bühler is applying automation, digital technologies and AI to improve production processes.
当日下午，代表团前往瑞士先进制造与工程集团布勒集团，深入了解其制造运营与自动化发展进程。代表团嘉宾走访了生产线，只管探索布勒如何运用自动化、数字技术和AI优化生产流程。
The scale of Bühler’s industrial footprint was striking. Its equipment is used to process around 65% of the world’s wheat into flour, 30% of the world’s rice and 75% of chocolate. Its technologies also support automotive manufacturing and the production of everyday products including eyewear, smartphones and fitness trackers.

The delegation also met with local government representatives during a luncheon hosted by CCPIT Wuxi Branch, engaging in discussions on the city’s industry status and evolving business landscape.
