Women today are seeking financial independence and wellbeing more than ever. Often, we navigate through life without understanding the financial tools that are available to us to best manage our money. Financial literacy empowers you with the ability to transform your life and the lives of others. Money is the tool you need to live a comfortable life, both in the present and future.

Your career has an important role to play in reaching financial independence and wellbeing, particularly for women. It takes courage and confidence to ask for what you want and deserve.

Understanding that financial independence is built from successfully managing your finances personally and professionally, Britcham’s Women in Business committee is pleased to welcome our female community to our “Think on Your Feet: The Power of Financial Literacy” seminar.

In this workshop, you will learn about managing your personal finances, creating sustainable and measurable goals and the importance of investing to grow your savings. You will also learn how to use everyday skills that build your confidence in asking for what you want. By examining our financial health and expanding our earning potential, the seminar aims to empower professional women to achieve their personal goals and reach their full potentials.

In case of cancellation, please kindly note you must email the BritCham Shanghai Event staff Hilary.Wu @britishchambershanghai.cn before 5 pm, 27 Sep. Due to the service charges of Event Bank and online payment platforms, we can only partially refund up to 90% of your ticket price. The refund will be processed within 14 days after the event via your original payment method. However, it is non-refundable for a cancellation request made beyond the above-mentioned timeframe.

Sophie Norris

Consultant at Austen Morris Associates Ltd.

Sophie is committed to empowering women with the financial tools to grow their wealth. She believes in the importance of creating an open and safe space for women to share their worries, challenges, and successes around money. Sophie helps women to confidently manage their finances and identify their long-term goals.

Sophie built her financial and investment knowledge while working alongside the Fixed Income traders at Deutsche Bank in London. Seeking new challenges, Sophie relocated to Shanghai in 2019 and joined Austen Morris Associates to take on a more client-facing role. Her role focuses on client relationship management, handling client queries, and business development. She prides herself on her attention to detail and takes time to understand clients’ needs to be able to provide the most effective solutions.

Sophie is actively involved in the British Chamber’s Women In Business Committee in Shanghai. She helps to organise events to provide skills training, drive inclusiveness and champion leadership success within the women’s network.

Vivien Newrzella

Strategic HR manager at Fiducia

Vivien is a strong intercultural communicator with specialized knowledge in business in China. She has extended experience in relationship management and sales functions across industries such as – hospitality, healthcare, and professional services. Before joining Fiducia as Learning and Development Manager, she worked throughout APAC as an Account Manager and Workshop Facilitator.

Today, she is heading Fiducia’s HR team focusing on our people strategy and organizational development. She translates corporate strategy into people’s realities, designing, driving, and overseeing all things, change, growth, engagement, and performance.

Vivien has been living in Shanghai since 2014 and has engaged with the community as a speaker at various events and guest lecturer at Tongji University, UBS Sauder, ESSCA and others. She is an active board member at LEAN IN China International, a certified scrum master (CSM) and an accredited facilitator. In 2016, she started a program called “The graceful negotiator”, helping especially women to negotiate for what they deserve.
